All
kinds and sizes of ports single lumen and double lumen,
low profile and standars
Implanted ports from Bard Access Systems were
developed to help provide reliable vascular access for
patients who require long-term drug or fluid therapy.
Ports are totally implantable vascular access devices
that permit the infusion of medications, parenteral
nutrition solutions, blood products and other fluids;
ports are also useful for blood sampling.
Implanted ports offered by Bard Access Systems are
available in a variety of portal materials and designs.
Material choices include titanium and plastic. Design
variations consists of arterial, peritoneal,
single-lumen, dual-lumen, low-profile and preconnected
or attachable catheter configurations. Preconnected
catheter segments are permanently affixed to the port.
Attachable catheter segments are provided as a component
to be attached at implantation.
Implanted ports are available with either the
Groshong silicone catheter, featuring the patented
three-position valve, open-ended silicone catheter, or
open-ended ChronoFlex polyurethane catheter.

Groshong
Catheters
The patented three-way Groshong
valve allows infusion and blood aspiration while
reducing the risk of air embolism, blood reflux and
clotting. Flushing frequency is decreased because the
valve prevents blood from backing into the catheter and
clotting. Because the system is closed, routine
maintenance is simplified and the need for heparin is
virtually eliminated.
- Negative pressure opens valve inward, permitting
blood aspiration.
- Positive pressure opens valve outward, allowing
infusion.
- At natural pressure, valve remains closed,
reducing risk of air embolism, blood reflux and
clothing.
ChronoFlex Polyurethane
Catheters
ChronoFlex polyurethane catheters
have been proven to exhibit superior biodurability
compared with other polyurethane catheters, making them
ideal for long-term ,blood-contacting devices. In vivo
studies indicate the ChronoFlex polyurethane catheter
has less propensity for surface biodegradation , making
it more resistant to environmental stress cracking.
- Firmness and rounded tip facilitate advancement
into vein.
- Thin catheter walls offer increased flow-rate
capability.
- Catheter shear and compression fracture
resistance reduces risk of pinch-off.
- Incremental depth markings simplify assessment
of insertion depth.
Open-Ended Catheters
Bard access Systems open-ended
central venous catheters con - tinue to set the standard
for performance and reliability. To fully address your
access needs, these catheters are available in both
single-and dual-lumen configuration and come in an
extensive variety of French sizes.
- Soft, a traumatic tip offers added safety during
implantation.
- Catheters configuration include single- and
dual- lumen designs and a range of sizes from 6.6 to
12.0 French.
- Medical- grade radiopaque silicone construction
ensures biocompatibility
