catheter that reduces complication risk
in the epidural space...the Arrow
FlexTip Plus.
This one-of-a-kind catheter offers a
full range of features and benefits:
-
Soft distal tip
- Superior tensile strength
- Kink-resistant o Highly
radiopaque
- Superior SnapLock
catheter/syringe adapter
- High quality centimeter markings

An epidural catheter should
help eliminate pain management problems,
not cause them. That hasn't always been
possible, because until now,
practitioners have had to compromise
between using catheters that require
stiffness to maintain patency and
catheters with the softness desired to
minimize indwelling complications. The
new Arrow FlexTip Plus epidural catheter
resolves that dilemma. Its unique
coil-reinforced design combines a soft,
flexible tip with a firm body
|
|
The coil-reinforced catheter body has
been engineered to deliver the firmness
needed for insertion while providing
resistance to kinking or collapsing,
hence maintaining patency. Because of
this unique design, no stylet is
required for insertion, making epidural
procedures faster and simpler. |

|
|
What's more, the catheter body has two
flashback windows permitting easy
visualization of blood or CSF upon
aspiration. The extremely soft tip
reduces the risk of paresthesia and
inadvertent penetration of blood vessels
or the dura, which can misdirect
delivery of anesthetics. |

|
|
Moreover, the tip of the FlexTip Plus
also incorporates coil-reinforcement,
making it virtually kink-proof.
The catheter isn't the only part of
Arrow's epidural product with unique
advantages. Unlike a Tuohy-Borst
adapter, Arrow's SnapLock adapter
attaches to the catheter with a single
"snap," assuring the user that it will
remain securely in place without
impeding flow. The Arrow FlexTip Plus
raises the standard for epidural
catheters and is available in a variety
of complete kits and sets.

Arrow TheraCath
Epidural Catheter
Designed for
pain management
Highly kink-resistant o Highly
radiopaque
Superior SnapLock catheter/syringe
adapter
For the patient who
requires more than the standard epidural
catheter for pain management.
In longer-term and
specialized pain management procedures,
catheter patency is an important factor,
assuring more efficient and effective
pain management treatment. The Arrow
TheraCath provides high compression
strength to resist collapsing, due to
its smooth, durable polymer exterior,
and an inner spiral wound stainless
steel helix.
|
 |
|
These elements combine to provide
patency over extended use and the column
strength necessary for directionability.
In addition to exceptional long-term
patency, the TheraCath offers the
following benefits.
-
The stainless steel helical wire
is identical to a soft-tip
spring-wire guide at the distal
tip. Anesthetic is injected
through the internal lumen of
the jacketed spring-wire helix
and is uniformly dispersed
through the expanded windings at
the uncovered distal tip.
-
Placement is simplified and made
more positive by a removable
stylet, and by the fact that the
spring-wire guide is part of the
catheter.
-
Catheter radiopacity is greatly
enhanced by the stainless steel
helix.
-
A
simple-to-use SnapLock
catheter/syringe adapter can be
secured positively to the
catheter without collapse of the
lumen.
